More about TECAR therapy
What is TECAR therapy and how does it work?
TECAR therapy is a form of endogenous therapy (healing your body by generating deep heat) based on radio waves.
The acronym TECAR stands for “Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive”. TECAR therapy causes a bidirectional flow of electrolytes present in the body, thereby accelerating cellular metabolic processes.
With TECAR therapy, we achieve an increase in tissue temperature “from within” and at the same time increase the energy potential of cell membranes. TECAR therapy generates heat deep in the area of damage to biological tissue, developing constantly and homogeneously. Treatment of injuries and pain with the TECAR device is non-invasive and a pleasant instrumental therapy for the patient.
Effects of TECAR therapy
The effects of TECAR therapy are among the most academically researched instrumental treatment methods and confirm the effectiveness of treatment for the following conditions:
- back pain,
- herniated disc,
- hip arthrosis,
- knee arthrosis,
- joint arthritis,
- knee arthritis,
- frozen shoulder syndrome,
- spinal stenosis,
- jumper’s knee,
- tennis elbow,
- joint inflammation,
- inflammation of the joint capsule,
- ankle ligament injuries,
- anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction,
- ankle sprain,
- SLAP lesion.
Effectiveness of TECAR therapy
With TECAR therapy, we trigger the body’s natural self-healing mechanisms and accelerate natural regeneration and anti-inflammatory processes. TECAR therapy also improves blood and lymphatic flow, which means more effective delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the target cells of the damaged area.
TECAR therapy is effective, improvement usually occurs after the first or second therapy session, and has high application value for the more athletically active population.
At MEDICOFIT clinic, we use TECAR therapies as part of the treatment of postoperative conditions, acute inflammation of joints, muscles and ligaments, and as part of the treatment of tendinopathies and other chronic pain resulting from degenerative diseases.
