Procedure for handling disputes and violations of patients’ rights
Dear patient!
It is important that you know your rights, which will contribute to the high quality of medical care in our clinic. It is also important that you understand how you can exercise these rights and how to ensure they are protected, if you as a user of healthcare services had these right violated. You can find more information about patients’ rights on the website of the Ministry of Health.
If you were satisfied with the medical treatment and the attitude of the medical staff, we look forward to your initiatives, suggestions, comments and praise. In accordance with Article 59 of the Patients’ Rights Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, no. 15/08 and 55/17), we hereby inform you that you have the right to file a complaint or first request for examination of a violation of patients’ rights with a healthcare service provider. You can submit your complaint in person, in writing or orally to: Medicofit d.o.o., Koprska ulica 106h, 1000 Ljubljana, by email to info@medicofit.si , or by telephone to 041 410 360.
At Medicofit d.o.o., the person responsible for accepting and processing first requests for examination is:
Urška Ličen, every workday between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM in person, by telephone to 031 780 912 or by email to urska@medicofit.si.
If you became aware of the violation later or the consequences of the violation became apparent later, you can file the first request even after the deadlines have expired, but no later than within three months.
The first request for examination must include: first and last name, residence address and contact details of the patient, a description of the alleged violation, information on healthcare or allied professionals involved, the place and time of the alleged violation, any consequences of the alleged violation, and any proposals to resolve the dispute.
You must file a request within 15 days after the alleged violation for an allegedly inappropriate attitude of healthcare or allied professionals. You must file a first request within 30 days of the end of medical treatment for allegedly inappropriate behaviour of healthcare or allied professionals during medical treatment.
A patient can contact a patient rights advocate at any time, who can advise, assist or even represent them upon authorisation in exercising their rights under the Patients’ Rights Act. A patient rights advocate can provide the patient with basic information, offer professional assistance, and provide specific guidance in exercising rights in the field of healthcare, health insurance, and the provision of healthcare services. The patients’ rights advocate’s work of advising, assisting and representing a patient is free-of-charge and confidential.
